About Us
Tranquil Mind is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to making deep, authentic meditation accessible to everyone. We teach a gentle, joyful meditation practice rooted in the original teachings of the Buddha — a complete path to genuine peace, happiness, and insight that has been passed down and refined over 2,600 years.
We believe that profound inner peace should be available to all people, not just those who can afford premium retreats or have decades of experience. That's why everything we offer — our courses, one-on-one guidance, and group sessions — is provided free of charge. Our teachers and guides donate their time out of a sincere wish to help others.
Our Practice
Tranquil Mind is based on the original teachings of the Buddha. This isn't just a relaxation technique. It is a complete spiritual path that leads from the first moments of calm, through the profound jhāna states, and ultimately toward the awakening the Buddha described.
Our Roots
The Tranquil Mind practice traces its modern lineage to Bhante Vimalaraṁsi, an American Buddhist monk who ordained in Thailand in 1986 and spent over twenty years in Asian monasteries before returning to the United States. We are deeply grateful for his legacy, and we continue to teach in that spirit.
What We Offer
We meet you wherever you are in your practice:
Free, self-paced online meditation courses - free

A Note on Donations
As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Tranquil Mind relies entirely on the generosity of our community. All donations are tax-deductible and go directly toward keeping our teachings freely available, supporting retreat costs, and expanding our reach. We are grateful for whatever you are moved to give.
